weeknotes 5: 38.2026
💥 no migraines! But one (1) anxiety attack on Sunday.
💤 3 naps this week! 1 today because I woke up at 3:30AM and couldn't fall back asleep. It wasn't as restorative as I hoped, but I do feel way less sleepy and tired than before.
📓 new term begins! I'm absent 2 days this week due to public servant paperwork things. Did my psych eval yesterday so the state can be (re)assured I'm not going to snap anytime soon and have my medical eval later this week. Go me!
👣 still strong with my weekly treadmill walks! It was difficult to find time last week in between a million meetings + exhaustion, but I managed a 30min walking session without wanting to die. I do hope this week will be easier on that front.
📚 posted about my Final FMC Readathon reads here! But what I'm really super mega excited for is Kristin Kobes Du Mez's Live Laugh Love: The Secret History of White Christian Women and the World They Made that comes out TODAY. I have a special (and odd to some) interest in Christian and religious fundamentalism and her work on it is incredible! I already got my digital copy and going to start reading it as soon as I finish writing this post :D
📽️ Leviticus, in my head, serves as a weird companion to It Follows? By which I mean: I loved it. The tension and heartache kept me hooked and I couldn't help but root for Naim and Ryan. The blatant (religious) homophobia element brought uo complicated feelings, but I appreciated how it was explored here in the setting of a small community. In my head, those two are together and happy and not at all haunted by any sort of entity.
🎧 finished listening to Englewood After Dark season 1! I have some mixed feelings about the second half of the season... I'll probably write a post about it. And I started Blackwood: am on episode 5 and don't like the 2 main guy characters and how they treat other people. We'll see if I'll continue.
