Now, a journalist who grew up with the girls is coming home to find out what happened that night in Olive Hill.Very strong beginning! I really liked the premise of a journalist coming back to her hometown and looking into the disappearance of two teenage girls years ago. The first few episodes with the small town vibes, and mentality, were super intriguing! Especially as it brought up religious elements and witchcraft accusations! The interviews were interesting, the leaking of police evidence was so cool, and then... the paranormal happened.
It seems that I dislike when audiodramas bring up paranormal plots/subplots when the synpopsis and first handful of episodes say nothing about it. Mismatched expectations, I suppose. Here, it involved deah and evil wood faeries(?) and souls trapped inside the wrong ressurected bodies. It was a little too much for me. There was also little-to-no explanation about any of that, so... another bust.
