to the little moments
After a year full of obstacles, plans that didn’t work out, disappointments, and an unexpected health diagnosis—here I am. 2025 wasn’t a kind year to many. Some of us arrived at this new year with a few extra scars, a few dents, and unanswered questions.
I ended up losing my way along the journey. I disconnected from myself and the people around me, from the things that bring me joy, and from my goals. I began to feel aimless and without purpose, questioning how to return to being the person I recognize as ‘me.’ I didn’t find ready-made answers, but I did stumble upon a path that served as a first step toward rediscovering myself.
Welcome to the small moments.
The ordinary is often cast aside in favor of big moments. We believe we need impact, intense emotions, and major achievements. Daily life comes to seem tedious and dull, something to be overlooked. In our hunger to truly live, we forget that it is these small moments that make us who we are.
There is magic in the little things: sipping a hot cup of tea, feeling the wind on your face, reading a book, or watching a movie. These are moments of connection with ourselves—pauses in our fast-paced, demanding lives where the only thing required of us is time. Time for our thoughts and reflections, for our joys and sorrows, and, most importantly, for silence.
Lately, I had stopped paying attention to what makes my life unique. Monotonous days—one after another, always the same—drained my energy and my desire to do anything beyond just getting by. At the turn of the year, with January finally allowing me some rest, I decided things couldn't go on like that.
I began to reflect on what brings me positive feelings—comfort and a sense of coziness. I thought about what contributes to my happiness and what can serve as an anchor during the days, weeks, and months when life gets tough. I know I’ll need something to hold onto when work becomes chaotic and stressful. We all deserve moments to ourselves where we can recharge; I know I do.
Here is my attempt to bring myself some joy through small actions. I miss blogging and writing into the void, a little space for myself with no pressure, that lets me just do whatever without feelings of guilt or inadequacy. The anonymity is also nice!
